BioBiteCorrector

Direct Class I with perfect and precise adjustment of the mandible:

The BioBiteCorrector (BBC) as a passive rigid appliance is able to guide the mandible into bilateral neutral occlusion directly and precisely at any time.
By means of c-formed spacers which can be crimped on the telescope bars, the mandible can be protruded precisely and easily.

Functional principle of the Herbst-appliance without using coilsprings:

The BBC-appliance does not use coilsprings as most other intermaxillary non-compliance Class II appliances do. The BioBiteCorrector works with the functional principles of the Herbst-appliance. Foregoing coilsprings shall reduce proclination of the lower incisors and uncontrolled forward mandibular movement.

Easy handling:

The BBC is already pre-installed. You don't have to assemble it of different single parts.

Screwable connection to upper and lower jaws:

This connection method to upper and lower jaws ensures a fast and easy fixation of the appliance. The so called rush-anker or L-Pin connection to connect the appliance to the tube of the upper molar is not needed. The screwable connection is both patient- and doctor-friendly.

Ball joints:

The ball joints allow lateral movements and sufficient mouth opening and therefore improve wearing comfort. They reduce loading of both BioBiteCorrector and multibracket appliance. They also allow a dainty design of the BBC without causing fatigue of the material or fractions.

Bands are not required to fix the BioBiteCorrector:

Though precondition for fixing other Class II appliances, the BBC does not need bands on the upper molars to be fixed due to its screwable connection.

Biocompatible Titanium:

The BBC is entirely manufactured of titanium and laser welded. Fixing screws and spacers are manufactured of titanium as well.

Design of the screw body:

The design of the screw body allows an accurate and safe fixation of the appliance. The screw body is slid on the wire via its vertical slot (see picture 2) and does not need to be slid on horizontally (see picture 1) like most other appliances require. The fixation of the screw body on the wire is realized by the clamping effect of the screws. The great advantage of the screw body’s vertical slot is that it cannot loosen from the wire because of horizontal forces. It is impossible to fix the body in an incorrect inclination as it may happen with appliances with horizontal slot.

Multi-telescope:

This technique allows a wide mouth opening and still cannot “hang out” like the conventional Herbst-appliance.

Two sizes:

Regularly, size “standard” is used. It has an overall length of 23 mm and can be extended up to 57 mm.
In extraction cases if space closure is already realized size “small” is used due to lesser distances. Size “small” has an overall length of 19 mm and can be extended up to 45 mm.
